At Apple Valley, the Cougars rally fell just short in the final seconds as Sultana hung on for a two-point victory.

Sultana's Melissa Galindo led the way with 19 points, five assists and five steals.

Brooklyn Scott had 15 points, four assists and two steals, and Jalyn Pele added 10 points, four rebounds.

Sultana had a 48-29 lead entering the fourth quarter but Granite Hills scored 30 points in the fourth to make it a game.

Granite Hills had a chance to tie the game at the fourth quarter buzzer but missed a shot and couldn't get the put back to fall.

Anyssia Gibbs led the Cougars comeback efforts with 36 points, 11 rebounds and six steals.

Sultana (2-1) returns home to play Rim of the World on Thursday.

Granite Hills (0-1) faces Adelanto on Friday.

Granite Hills' Charlie Colbert added 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Natalie Rollins had five points and three steals.

Granite Hills (1-1, 1-0 DSL) hosts Apple Valley on Tuesday.

Blessing Alfred, Sr., Adelanto — Guard led all Inland Area juniors at 20.5 points per game.
Dajenee Gill, Sr., Rialto Carter — Combo guard might be the best athlete in 2017 class.
Keilani Cooper, Sr., Vista Murrieta — Top point guard in the Southwestern League.
Camille Parker, Sr., Alta Loma — Averaged 16.2 points per game in 28 games.
